No PK so DJ goes solo.
DJ spent time pointing out that David Locke struggled trying to pronounce Kosta Koufos. Now I give Locke all the credit in the world for charging forward and trying to decipher the name on the fly because I said the name 15 different ways this morning. I did the same thing when the Jazz drafted AK or Memet, or Sasha Pavlovic. DJ made me run the drops of Locke messing up the name and I loaded it in a rotator at DR5 0411 totally under protest.
DJ likes the pick because Koufos is a different player that Boozer or Millsap but it could be questionable because he is compared to Memet.
Locke joined the show and said that he is a big body and can play defense better than he expected. Locke watch some tape (because that is what he does) and says that Kosta will not chase a rebound but he will grab everything in his immediate area. He struggles in the post but Locke says he looks like he has other skills that could be useful in a half court set when is comes to sealing off defenders.
Ohio St head coach Thad Matta joined the show and said that he was not sure why his play slipped in the draft. He feels that Kosta (pronounced Coasta Koe - fuss) needs to get bigger and develop his offence. Rebounding is something he showed improvement in with effort. Matta says Kosta can run and good strength on defense and length. Kosta’s timing will improve to make him a moderate threat at shot blocking.
